This extraordinary event is proudly organized by Persatuan Rekreasi Taman Negara and Persatuan Pencinta Alam Semulajadi Merapoh, with the aim of showcasing the breathtaking beauty of Kuala Tahan, Jerantut, as a premier eco – tourism destination for Visit Malaysia Year 2026. By promoting this spectacular location, the event also seeks to provide significant economic benefits to the vibrant local community of Kuala Tahan and the Jerantut District, famously known as Jerantut Bandar Taman Negara, the gateway to the world’s oldest rainforest.

The Malaysia – Taman Negara Ultra promises an amazing adventure through nature’s wonders, featuring four exhilarating categories: 100 kilometres, 50 kilometres, 30 kilometres and 15 kilometres. Participants will embark on a journey through pristine trails surrounded by lush greenery, cascading waterfalls and the dense humidity of Taman Negara, offering one of the highest levels of tropical immersion in the world.

Adding a unique cultural dimension, participants will also have the incredible opportunity to experience the rich heritage of the Orang Asli, the indigenous people of the region. These remarkable communities share their timeless traditions and harmonious way of life, which are deeply rooted in their connection with the natural wonders of Taman Negara. From traditional crafts to captivating stories of the rainforest, runners will gain a deeper appreciation of this region’s cultural richness.

This event proudly highlights not only the natural beauty of Taman Negara but also its incredible products such as exotic flora and fauna, unique local cuisine and eco – tourism offerings. Participants can also witness the vibrant culture of the local community in Jerantut, the largest district in Peninsular Malaysia, renowned for its hospitality and traditions that celebrate Malaysia’s ecological and cultural diversity.

The 5-kilometre category now offers an exciting experience for both young runners (ages 9-12) and adults (ages 13-99)! This unique category provides a fun and accessible way for participants of all ages to be part of the Malaysia – Taman Negara Ultra. Runners will enjoy a scenic road run through Kuala Tahan, taking in the breathtaking views and vibrant atmosphere of the world’s oldest rainforest. Whether you’re a young adventurer or an adult looking for a refreshing challenge, this category is the perfect way to embrace the spirit of the event in a relaxed yet thrilling setting!
